Education helps societies move forward. Libraries are really important because they help people learn, do research, and teach important things to students, like how to be ethical. At our college, library is a spacious, a well-ventilated and serene environment to encourage students to read and learn new things. It's got a great atmosphere for studying. We have around 2000 books and number of National and International Journals that help us keep up with the latest information in pharmacy. Plus, we have internet access there too.
Laboratories
The laboratories here are fully equipped and easy for everyone to use. They're set up to help students learn and become really good at what community pharmacy and industry need. The laboratories supervised by trained faculties. The laboratories are great place for students to learn, practice what they've learned, and even come up with new ideas.
The following labs are available in the institution.
- Pharmaceutics Lab
- Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab/ Pharmaceutical Biochemistry Lab
- Anatomy and Physiology lab/ Pharmacology lab/ Pharmacognosy Lab
- Hospital Pharmacy/ Social Pharmacy Lab/ Pharmacotherapeutics Lab
- Machines Lab
- Pharmacology Simulated Lab.
- Model Pharmacy/Drug Information Center/Patient Counselling
Pharmaceutics lab
This lab has all the instruments and apparatus needed for students to explore and create new formulations. It's set up for both learning about formulation development and assessing existing market formulations, including those made by students and faculty.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab
The labs allow students to gain hands-on experience in understanding different chemical reactions and applying various techniques used in these reactions. They also facilitate practical learning in synthesizing and identifying drugs, pharmaceuticals, and conducting studies on impurities. These labs are fully equipped for practical knowledge in biochemistry, phytochemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, and medicinal chemistry.
Anatomy and physiology laboratory/ Pharmacology
The lab provides hands-on learning opportunities for students to understand human body anatomy using models, bones, and charts. It also supports learning human body physiology through different charts. Additionally, students can learn about blood components like Groups, RBC, ESR, WBC, Hb levels and to measure BP, HR, and Lungs vital capacity using latest sophisticated equipment’s.
Pharmacology simulated Lab
Furthermore, this lab is equipped with facilities to learn the techniques of handling animals, observe and know about the effects of various drugs on animal models (licensed simulated software and animal experimental model)
Pharmacognosy Lab
Pharmacognosy lab focuses on scientifically studying raw drugs derived from plants, animals, microbes, marine sources, and minerals. It's fully equipped to conduct quality control studies, standardization, and the isolation and characterization of natural components from plants. It also supports the development of herbal drug formulations.
Machines Room
This lab provides options for the students to learn about the operations of various machines like Tablet- punching, coating machines ampoule filling machine, ampoule sealing machines, bottle washing and filling, ball mill, muffles furnace, Ointment filling & sealing equiments etc.
Hospital pharmacy/ Social Pharmacy Lab/ Pharmacotherapeutics lab
This lab is designed to provide simulated experience in various public health and social pharmacy activities. By Demonstration / Hands-on experience / preparation of charts / models /promotional materials / role plays / enacting / e-brochures / e-flyers / podcasts /video podcasts / other innovative activities to understand the concept of various elements of social pharmacy. Additionally, this lab is also designed to train the students in the basic skills required to support the pharmaceutical care services for selected common disease conditions. How to prepare a SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan) note for clinical cases of selected common diseases and Patient counselling techniques/methods for common disease conditions.
Model Pharmacy
A model pharmacy has been ingeniously crafted using empty cartons representing a diverse range of medicines in various dosage forms. It showcases an array of nameplates delineating distinct sections within the pharmacy. The medicines are meticulously arranged on shelves, racks, and drawers, with a designated space allocated for expired products. Display windows and shelves exhibit a comprehensive assortment, complemented by dummy bill book and computer stationery for bill printing. This meticulous setup serves as an invaluable tool for imparting hands-on learning experiences to students, enabling them to adeptly handle prescriptions and effectively manage pharmacy operations.
